Akbuk is located in the centre of Turkey's favourite coast. The town which is between Bodrum and Didim (Altinkum), is a perfect holiday location set in a beautiful natural environment by the sea.

Akbuk is covered with protected forests and olive trees. The region has many small clean beaches and bays. Akbuk is a much loved region by foreign and local tourists, it is purported to have the highest oxygen ratio and the lowest humudity of Turkey, and is rich in nature and sea.

The climate here is warm, but being in the bay a gently breeze is refreshing to cool you down especially in the peak summer months. In contrast to Altinkum Akbuk is largely untouched and unspoilt by the tourist industry. I am sure you will agree is is a little piece of heaven.
Akbuk is 70 Km from Bodrum (Milas) airport, 65 Km from Kusadası and just 18 Km from the resort of Didim/Altınkum.
Things to Do
Akbuk harbour is host to many different tours especially in the summer season and the nearby ıslands and bays can be visited by yacht tours. A number of boats offer pleasure cruises and fishing trips. If you are a keen angler fishing from almost any where along the Akbuk coastline will net you Sea Bass etc. There is a weekly market every Friday which also serves as a social gathering.
Dining Out
There are a growing number of small restaurants and cafes, the Ipek Yolu (Silk Road) is a quality fish restaurant offering traditional Turkish cuisine in comfortable & beautiful surroundings (they speak very good English), while next door is the Pizza Pansion a family run business serving freshly cooked food at very reasonable prices and you can watch the food being cooked in their clay oven. Jokers bar & disco next the harbour offers all day meals and snacks. Many more eateries are located along the coastal road and in the town centre.
Akbuk has a variety of small shops selling all sorts, small supermarkets Doctors, Chemist, Builders merchants etc. Bread, fruit & vegetables are astoundingly low in price.
A Few Building Facts
No major construction work is allowed during the tourist season (May to October). No building is allowed to be more than 2 ½ stories high. High density housing is not allowed. These regulations are strictly enforced by the town Mayor & Council.
To Sum Up
With very friendly local people, virtually zero crime rate, clean fresh air, beautiful sea & coastline, panoramic views, restricted building for the future and much much more.
